Meat Technology Ireland
Meat Technology Ireland is a research programme co-funded between Enterprise Ireland and the beef and sheepmeat industry in Ireland. MTI is hosted by Teagasc, with Declan Troy, Assistant Director of Research at Teagasc, as the academic sponsor and is headed up by its Director John Colreavy. The companies behind the initiative are ABP Ireland, Ashbourne Meat Processors, Dawn Meats Group, Dunbia (Ireland), Hilton Foods Ireland, Irish Country Meats, Kepak Group, Liffey Meats, and Slaney Foods International.
Teagasc is the Agriculture and Food Development Authority in Ireland, providing integrated research, advisory and education services to the agriculture and food industry and rural communities. Teagasc is the main provider of further education in agriculture, food, horticulture, forestry and equine studies. Food Industry Development training takes place at centres around the country.
